ASSTA - Paragliding In Kerala

Do you want to fly like an eagle without any gasoline‘?

Training in Paragliding is available with ASSTA.

Our training programs are meant for serious, students and our Trainers would see to it that the students would be able to fly independently at various sites with and without supervision.

OUR TRAINING

I.Basic course structure:

Ground Training
1 Introductory talk - School instructor - risk warning health/medical conditions clothing/footwear.
2 Site assessment
3 Introduction to equipment
4 Avoiding/minimising injury

Ground Handling
5 Briefing - Checks - wind direction flare/stall
6 Preparation - Checks - paragliding canopy harness helmet
7 Inflation - Take-off - landing sequence practised
8 Directional control - initiating turns

First Hops
9 Getting airborne - take-off with good control of airspeed, canopy and landing

Flight exercises
10 Eventualities briefing - to deal with the unexpected
11 Commands and communications briefing
12 Responsibilities briefing - student becomes the pilot-in-command
13 Flights (3) straight flights maintaining course and airspeed
14 Flights (2) introducing turns

Theory lessons
15 Meteorology
16 Principles of flight
17 Rules of the air

II.Intermediate level course structure:

Students are expected to have their own equipment for this course.

Pre-soaring
21 Theory
22 180 degree turns to a consistent level
23 Planned approaches - 2 successful planned flights making controlled landing within 10m of a target

Soaring
24 Soaring flight - 3 successful flights using ridge lift to maintain / gain height.

Improving skills
25 Exploring the speed range
26 Accelerator system
27 Forward launching
28 Reverse launching
29 Weight shift and pitch-roll in turns
30 Cross wind and slope landings

Instability and emergencies
31 Theory
32 Active flying
33 Rapid descent techniques
34 Dealing with an asymmetric tuck

Theory lessons
35 Meteorology
36 Principles of flight
37 Rules of the air and air law
38 General airmanship knowledge
